In this energetic black-and-white art photograph, a downpour of water envelops a nude feminine figure, with light catching the droplets as they burst off her hands, arms, and body. Arresting the water mid-air, the artwork turns a fleeting motion into a frozen moment in time, highlighting the instantaneous nature of the piece.

Composition

The woman winces at the deluge of water streaming down her face and body. Her eyes are closed, emphasizing the brevity of the moment.

Her facial features are crisp and theatrical. Thick, dark eyelashes boldly define her closed eyes. Her lips are slightly parted and upturned in the sensation of the moment. Other visceral and tactile elements include her interclasped fingers, her swinging hair, and her upstretched torso.

The edges of her body are illuminated, and strands of her long, fair hair glow against the backdrop. Rounded streams of water trail down her chest, reflecting highlights that emphasize her curvaceous physique. While the top of the scene remains dark, drawing the viewer’s eye toward her brightly lit hands, various spots of light play across the backdrop, adding depth to the composition.

Theme

At its core, this artwork is a nude portrait. The composition is straightforward, with the figure centered in a symmetrical, balanced pose. The distinctive element of the scene is the explosion of kinetic energy presented by the water moving outward from her body.

The black-and-white treatment invites the viewer into a more thoughtful headspace, where the absence of color allows one to focus on the interplay between form and motion. Warm toning of the grays helps to further distinguish the photograph and show the artist’s intent: to illustrate the harmonious tension between a serene, centered presence and the chaotic energy of the world surrounding it.

Intense blue dominates the composition in this art photograph. Blue chalk covers a nude woman as she jumps through the scene. The Marrakech blue (Majorelle blue, Klien blue) is most vibrant in the circular piles of pigment under her. The apparent result of her handiwork is evident in designs on the floor.

The warm figure, arms and legs extended, stands out against the backdrop and foreground. Blue at the bottom and fading into neutral highlights above, the negative space contrasts sharply with her figure.

Theme

Literally uplifting, this depiction of an airborne nude woman is a celebration. The central figure of this image looks straight at the viewer, a grin on her face. This connection furthers the festive nature of the artwork. The playful nature of the chalk, with handprints on her body and the sand painting on the floor fits with the bright colors and mood.

This black and white art photograph depicts a nude woman swinging from a chain, supporting her weight with both hands. She wraps her legs around the chain as she gazes in the direction of the viewer. The angles of the chain, her body, and her flaring hair is the subtle evidence of her swinging motion. One might conceive that this is the moment after she has leapt into the air and grabbed the chain in mid jump.

The display is a demonstration of strength and balance. Her body, from head to toe is suspended above the ground, held up by her own power. Both of her legs and both of her arms are bent. Physique is taught, illustrating the musculature of her lithe figure. She bends her ankles, pointing her toes straight back from her legs, displaying her feet at a deliberately theatrical angle.

She looks forward confidently with an equally theatrical expression. Her lips are parted and her expression makes her pose seem effortless, contrary to the undeniable physics involved in her position.

She is nude except for a pair of long black socks that cover from her toes up to her knees. Her body glows brightly against the dense background. Her hair and socks, as well as the top and bottom edges of the image, provide deep tones that contrast with the brighter elements in the image.

Highlights on the chain emphasize its metallic luster. The shimmering chain runs from the top of the frame, where it is secured to an unseen support, down the front of her body, then drapes over her raised thigh.

Despite several sensual elements and her beguiling expression, the overall impact of the image is relatively chaste; enough so to become artwork for your living room.

You can buy art nude photography like this image directly from the artist’s studio. Consider additional black and white images such as some sensual black and white photography or if you prefer more brightly colored images you can collect contemporary photography featuring bright pallets.

This art photograph depicts a female athlete outdoors, nude in a landscape. She bursts with energy, in mid-stride, leaping through the air. The background is an expansive, nearly featureless dune field of white sand in New Mexico’s Tularosa Basin desert. A lively blue sky stands in contrast to the neutral desert sand.

Her hair trails behind her head, emphasizing the sense of movement. Her expression is confident and jubilant; her chin is level, eyes wide and gazing forward. Outstretched arms and legs echo the vastness of the dessert and the adventure it may symbolize.

The color palette is predominantly light, neutral tones of beige and gray. The golden tones of the main subject stand out against the other colors. Distant hazy peaks draw attention to the horizon which cuts the image in two a bit above the center. This generous allocation of space to the desert sand emphasizes the depth of the picture. The ripples of sand behind the figure are strewn with footprints that lead into the distance. At the far right edge, tufts of vegetation can be seen in the distance below the mountains. In the lower left corner we see the shadows of her legs.

The female form has been a subject that has fascinated artists for centuries, and this contemporary art photography of a female athlete outdoors follows this tradition.

Considerations

This action photograph includes both sharp detail and elements of motion blur. The most obvious effects of motion blur can be see around the edge of the subject, at her feet and hands. These aspects can be examined prior to purchase by fully zooming in on each preview.

Conceptual art nude

This conceptual art nude depicts a splash in a Florida swimming pool as an unclad diver plunges beneath the surface. She is anonymous, her face underwater and only her legs and hips exposed. Our vantage point excludes a horizon, landscape, or other context, opting rather to fixate on the nearby activity. The figure is tightly framed, her fingers and toes are very close to the bottom and top of the frame.

The colors in this image are deliberately bright and varied in their hue and intensity. Electric ribbons of sunlight stand out against the deep blue tones of the water. The peachy skin of the diver and terra-cotta colored pavement are clearly distinct from the cool tones of the pool. The rich colors emphasize the strong Florida sun.

The splash lasts about one second and is the central fascination of the image. The surrounding pool, a permanent structure, is of much less concern. Additionally, this splash is dramatized, larger than life. The magnitude of water more resembles the aftermath of a diver entering the water rather than mid-dive. This exaggerated splash may register on a subconscious, emotional level for many viewers.

The subject is askew in several ways. Her body is off center and forms an arc, with her head slightly right of center and her feet left of center. Rather than a straight diagonal line between these points, her legs and torso bend sideways in a gradual curve. Although the kinetic action is vertical, there are no straight up and down lines in this conceptual art nude.

Artist Aaron Knight first visited Florida in childhood when visiting grandparents on his mother’s side. He has been returning there during his art career to make images that celebrate the state’s visual themes of warmth, water, diversion, and revelry. He was drawn to Florida for its soothing and sometimes indulgent scenery and colors. It seems in Florida everybody has a swimming pool and are not so much a symbol of luxury but of enjoying life regardless of one’s station.

Considerations

This image shows motion through varying levels of crispness and blur between moving and stationary elements. These aspects can be examined prior to purchase by fully zooming in on each preview.

This black and white art photograph depicts a nude in the white sand landscape of the American desert southwest. A solitary figure springs up from the end of a trail of footprints. A puff of white gypsum sand scatters under her feet.

Her limbs are taught, exhibiting toned musculature and an enthusiastic spirit. Her chin is tipped in the direction of her upward trajectory, however her eyes connect with the viewer. In this gesture, she signals an awareness of being observed and underscores the performative aspect of this black and white art photograph.

The predominant tones of the image are warm grays. The white sand dunes are rendered in a less-than-white value, exhibiting the texture of wind ripples that extend into the distance. The sky and presumably blinding sun are also more muted than one might expect, rendered in deeper gray tones.

Despite the predominant lack of contrast in the composition, there are small areas of pure black and pure white. The edge of her face and hairline gleam in the sunlight, apparently coming from behind her. Areas of her face, such as her eyes, and under her ear are darkened in shadow.

Without the extremes of highlight and shadow, this image does not impart the feeling of blazing heat and blinding light that might be typical of a landscape of this sort. Rather, it is a tale of space, movement, and form. This compositional choice steers the viewer more towards prolonged inspection and contemplation than the immediate impact of the athletic feat it depicts.

The distant mountains are featureless, a jagged horizon that fades into the haze. These far-off peaks indicate the vastness of the desert. Although she appears alone for the moment, multiple footprints are visible on the dunes in the mid ground.

In this art photograph, a woman jumps while confetti streams down around her. The colorful bits of paper are in warm hues of pink, orange, and yellow. The large squares are vibrant against the dense blue-gray backdrop.

The image depicts a naked woman with brown hair against a black background. She is leaping with her arms raised high, her fingers spread wide, exuding a sense of joy and celebration. Her facial expression reflects happiness and excitement. Pink and orange confetti float around her body. The scene conveys a lively and playful atmosphere, with the dynamic motion of the paper contributing to the celebratory mood.

The central figure’s expression is jubilant. Her lean body is statuesque, in mid-performance of its athletic display. Her toes point down, continuing the lines of her legs. She looks straight forward, grinning unreservedly. Her hair flies into the air as she leaps.

In the genre of erotic art, a major consideration is how subtle or overt the sensual imagery is. This photograph of women chooses a metaphorical approach, with three shadowy bodies swirled in arcs of light. Writing with light through the darkness, the phantasms inscribe in glowing gestures. Bright violet flourishes of light approach glowing white that dominates the composition. Eyes are naturally drawn to the mysterious figures, despite their shadowy appearance.

The arcing paths of light made up of several rows of parallel lines. These converge and separate through their curves.

This is either a Cabal of identical triplets, or a single sorcerer who has made phantasmal copies of herself. Her glowing magic creates a time-lapsed display that simultaneously obscures and enhances her appearance.

The figure at left stands on her toes. Her legs are taut and her back arches forward. Her arms stretch forward, splayed fingers dissolving into the darkness. Her head bows forward and disappears behind her arm in a tangle of dangling hair.

The central figure stands in a dancer’s pose. Her legs are crossed, and her body twists in the opposite direction. Her arm bends upward, forming a triangle with her neck and shoulder muscles. The final figure mirrors this pose; the two figures step away from each other, and their torsos twist towards one another. Their arms stretch towards the void between them and blur together.

The more erotic elements of this composition are partly obscured by light and movement, but are nevertheless discernible to in inquisitive viewer. This fact creates a balanced aesthetic that is of importance in erotic fine art photography.

Considerations

This is a time-lapse, long-exposure/multiple exposure photograph. Some areas contain motion blur and lack definite form or detail.

Bathed in brilliant light streaming from above, a nude woman acrobatically arches her body just beneath the surface of the water. Bent legs, outstretched arms, flowing hair, and a flurry of bubbles emphasize the energy of this underwater art photograph.

Composition

Three elements comprise this composition: the nude figure, the underwater gradient, and the surface. The clear division between the surface and the water is a surrogate for the horizon of a landscape. The figure is central to the composition, framed by the expanse of blue.

Brilliant blue tones frame the warm, delicate hues of the female’s nude body. While the image presents as distinct forms from a distance, closer observation reveals a gentle, painterly effect with a subtle, nostalgic graininess.

The turbulent white reflections above contrast with the serene expanse of blue that surrounds the swimmer. One can imagine her silent underwater world, weightless and carefree.

Inspiration

This photograph honors the classic art nude tradition, brought to life by the subject’s theatricality. The motif looks to the past for inspiration but is contemporary in its interpretation. At its core, this scene depicts communion with nature. Water is familiar to all and has been used symbolically throughout the history of art.

Dive deeper into the collection with more underwater art nudes.

Considerations

This image is a departure from Knight’s primary style. Throughout this artwork is a soft grainy/gritty effect. This effect is most pronounced in the corners. These aspects can be examined prior to purchase by fully zooming in on each preview.

This image contains brilliant blue colors that will likely be more intense in the physical artwork than what is displayed on your device screen.

This oversized nude photograph makes a statement, bursting with energy in tones of electric blues and effervescent whites. Sweeping lines radiate out from the diver. Plunging into the water is a metaphor for a sudden transition, undertaken with abandon just short of recklessness. It is a celebration of exhilaration, a carefree lifestyle where one reaps the rewards of taking risks while others stand on the sidelines. Whether you bask in the pleasure of adventure or purely enjoy dreaming of daring exploits, this oversized nude photograph applauds a lifestyle that is unafraid of experiences. This is a centerpiece oversized nude photograph that is sure to command visual attention.

Only half of the figure, from posterior to toe, is visible; the rest of the figure has plunged into the water. The legs are rendered in a rosy warmth. Her body is lean and toned, with her ethnicity somewhat enigmatic. Central to the intensity of the image are kinetic and temporal elements: this is a body in motion, action precedes the current moment, and more is to come. It is undeniably a moment of transition.

Upon close inspection, her upper body and hair are vaguely visible where they dissolve into the blue.

The athletic figure and focus on the buttocks are decidedly erotic, but careful placement of water and reflections prevent this oversized nude photograph from being explicit. The amount of space occupied by the figure is deceptively small, but not lost in the large scale of the image. Emphasis remains on the body due to the simplicity of the negative space.

The artist has myriad influences for composition, mostly from paintings, but chiefly David Hockney’s painting, A Bigger Splash. However, this image diverges in the absence of California luxury or any exotic reference. The feelings of abundance and well-being are conveyed through the clarity and intensity of the color rather than the trappings of physical possessions portrayed in Hockney’s painting.

If you seek a large-scale nude photograph, with similar colors, try this contemporary nude art.
