Guide to framing your art photography
Note; This guide applies only to the mini-art photos sold by Aaron Knight, which come in sizes that are friendly to standard, off-the-shelf-framing. Full sized art photos should be framed by a professional framer.
Unpacking Your Mini-Art Photo
The mini-art photo will arrive in a rigid mailer with additional packing sheet for stiffness. It is strongly recommended that you unpack the contents by slowly unpeeling all panels of the mailer. Carefully separate every edge with your fingers. Do not cut the mailer. The contents will be too tightly packed to safely slide out a single opening. Do not attempt to slide the contents out of the package, as this may damage the artwork.
Framing Your Mini-Art Photo

Custom framing by a professional frame shop is recommended. However standard size frames are available through many retailers (usually $40 and up). You will need a frame and mat. For example:
- A mat with an opening for an 11x14 inch artwork (not 8x12) this will allow the signature and numbering to show. Common outside dimensions for a frame this size are 16x20 inches.
- A frame for a 16x20 inch picture.
These items are often sold as a set. For example, Blick's 16x20 inch frame with mat for 11x14 inch artwork. This is just an example and not an endorsement of this specific product. Only a cursory evaluation has been made as to the quality of this product. Frames ordered online will typically have acrylic glazing instead of glass. Frames sold in physical stores will typically have glass, which if often preferred.
Be sure to only use archival products, such as framing corners or framing tape to secure the artwork. These do not form a permanent bond and are acid free. Most household tapes are not archival.
