Pinup artwork nude woman

Risa presents an enticing figure in this aquatic pinup artwork of a nude woman. She is partially obscured by water, the sensuality is obvious but indirect. She is surrounded by brilliant blue. Sparkling highlights dance on the surface. Although her pose is carefree, the image is full of energy.

We catch a glimpse of her face, almost in profile. Her eyelids are lowered, unconcerned with her surroundings. Her pose emphasizes her shapely body. Her head is tilted back in an breezy, cheerful expression. A bent elbow and hand to the forehead emphasize

The scene depicts a warm summer day paired with a refreshing dip in the pool. Bright sunlight rakes across her body and the water. Feelings of warmth and cool are reinforced by blue and amber colors.

Composition

The nude woman creates a diagonal line. From the tilted head to the pointed toe, this line extends from the upper left to the lower right. This straight geometry connects the corners of the artwork. The strength of the line is interrupted by her bent elbow and bent knee. These two limbs repeat a triangle shape.

The piece is mostly made up of mid-tones. The relatively light areas of her face and chest draw attention by contrast. The woman’s face is further emphasized by the dark area of hair that surrounds it. By using subtle contrast rather than high contrast, the eye is invited to wander freely throughout the patterns and shapes.

Strands of chestnut hair meander through the water. Her head and chest are visible above the surface. The rest of her form is only suggested through the refractions and reflections. Ripples swirl around her bent knee, evidence of recent movement. Her feet, hips, and legs glow beneath the tiny waves.

Pinup Artwork Influences

My pinup themes are influenced by generations of pinups by Alberto Vargas, Olivia De Berardinis, and Hajime Sorayama. Floating is an unusual theme for a pinup artwork of a nude woman, and presents a challenge. Art collectors who enjoy pinup nudes may be drawn to the intense colors and provocative pose of this photograph.

Contrast this pinup presentation with more subdued figure art photography that represent the body with regard to form and aesthetics.
