Limited edition fine art nudes, such as this photograph, are original artworks, signed and numbered by the artist who created them.
A nude swimmer glides through hauntingly green water. Her body, except her head, is submerged, distorting her form. She bisects the image nearly in half, although at a slight angle. The refraction of the light in the water creates a chaotic pattern in the water and unpredictable highlights and shadows on her body.
The protagonist’s body is outstretched, with her toes pointed behind her and her arms in front of her. The water around her is largely undisturbed. Small ripples radiate from her head and arms. Her slicked hair foams into a cloud around her shoulders underwater.
The water is an inky green with blue highlights that give it an iridescent quality. The darkness contrasts sharply with the subject’s pale skin and auburn hair. The water does not reveal its depth or what may be lurking below.
At the left of the image, the water is especially dark, while on the right are highlights and psychedelic patterns. She is floating between darkness and light.
The composition of the image is quite striking as the swimmer dominates the frame and her body is positioned at a downward angle. The sense of movement created by her arms and legs stretching outwards makes it seem as if she is gliding through the water. The use of lighting and color is also quite prominent, with the green and blue hues of the water creating a haunting, otherworldly atmosphere. The way the light reflects and refracts off of the water creates interesting patterns and highlights on the swimmer’s body, adding to the ethereal feel of the image. Additionally, the way the swimmer’s hair is depicted, floating around her head, adds to the sense of movement and fluidity in the image.
This is one of many limited edition fine art nudes available from the studio of Aaron Knight.
