Strands of hair cross and frame her face, and she makes no attempt to clear them. We can feel the wind and bright sky along with the protagonist in this narrative. Her fingertips barely grip the edge of the platform above her, demonstrating her height. Her heels are lifted, one foot in front of the other, showing us she’s marginally able to reach it.
Her legs are crossed at the knee, but not for modesty. She makes no attempt to obscure the provocative aspects of her pose. On the contrary, her back is curved and her ribcage projects forward. With her upper torso twisted, her far shoulder turned away, hidden from view. This contortion de-emphasizes the width of her upper body, making her midriff seem smaller and drawing attention to the sweeping curvature of her hips.
A horizon neatly divides the composition almost in half. At the left side an intense blue ocean fades into white ripples and the glare of the sun against the water. A few yellow flowers dot the space in front of the shallows where waves lap the sand. On the right side, bright green reaches up into the pale sky, washed out almost to white by the sun.
The presence of a bright sun, unseen and offstage to the right, is noticeable through the effect of its light on the sky, water, and figure. The main character’s figure is depicted in soft tones, in the shade under the tower. Cold shadows and intense blue reflections balance out this limited edition art photography.
