Contemporary figurative photography

Contemporary figurative photography from Aaron Knight is available directly from the studio. This composition features two women posing underwater, one with a movie camera.

She is the movie star. She is not perfect but we can’t take our eyes off her. She is in another world but right next to us. We know her well, although we’ve never met. The movie star poses for the camera; although her back it to the lens, she seems acutely aware of its presence.

She is the movie maker. She shines through the light of others. She orbits every scene but is unseen. Her hand bends the light. We’re dying to know what happens next, yet we’re afraid to find out. The movie maker is the focus of our attention as much as the star is. The camera obscures her face but explains much about her intentions and demeanor.

When they are underwater, movement slows to poetry, sound becomes alien, light becomes magic. Patterns of light reflect across the bodies and surfaces. The soundtrack is in our memories.

Figurative composition

The predominant colors of this contemporary figurative photography are blue and a rosy peach. The warm-colored figures stand out from the cool watery blue background. The movie camera is a key point of interest, signaling the intention and activity that build this quirky narrative.

Considerations

This image is a departure from Knight’s primary style. Throughout this artwork is a soft grainy/gritty effect. This effect is most pronounced in the corners. These aspects can be examined prior to purchase by fully zooming in on each preview.
