Inspired by Edward Weston

Art photography by Aaron Knight that is inspired by or reminiscent of the art nude photography of Edward Weston. In the early 20th century, Weston was a pioneer of nude photography, helping elevate consciousness of the art form on a global level. Weston often photographed faceless female nudes in the bright sun of the southwestern American landscape.

Working in black and white, this selection of Knight’s photographs bear resemblance to some of the themes, techniques and compositions of earlier photographers. Contorted figures create intricate designs, defined by the high-contrast play of light and shadow.
